Bollywood investor involved in mortgage scam
Bollywood movie producer, Vijay K. Taneja, has plead guilty to mortgage fraud that totals to 33 million dollars in a Virginia court. The district attorney said Taneja invested millions of dollars in Bollywood films and music ventures. There is still a ton of money that is unaccounted for.
Prosecutors say there are numerous local victims of Taneja’s mortgage scam. Taneja would present false loan documents to people, then create ficticious mortgage documents and then sell them to lenders. A Virginia woman says her credit was ruined when she found out Taneja had taken over 6 million dollars in loans out in her name.Â
