Silicon Valley Techies invest millions in Bollywood
It’s a tale of Bollywood meets Silicon Valley as Indian techies invest their fortunes in Bollywood movies, soundtracks and movies. As India’s allure rises with luxury hotels like the Atlantis Palms Resort, it’s market of 1 billion movie lovers is impossible to ignore.
Silicon Valley is full of wealthy individuals who have money to invest back into their homeland, and Hollywood studios are setting up operations in India too. Sylvester Stallone and Arnold Schwarzenegger have signed up to perform in a Bollywood film, Jackie Chan has expressed an interest in doing likewise and Snoop Dogg’s music is featured in a summer comedy, “Sing is Kinng.”
It seems the Silicon Valley techies are star struck as well. Maybe one of the next Bollywood movies should be named, “Glitter and the Geek”.
