Will King Khan save the day for Bollywood?

This Friday, Bollywood will open it’s first feature film since the devastating Mumbai terrorist attacks.  The film, “Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi” (Match Made In Heaven), starring Shah Rukh Khan, has high expectations as Bollywood needs a huge hit these days.

Bollywood execs are concerned that their growing ties with Hollywood will be severed if attacks, such as the one in Mumbai, persist.  Although 2 big budget films released in the Hindu festival of Diwali, they only did fairly well.  Bollywood fears people are still too afraid to go to the theaters yet.

Later this month hopes are pinned on Aamir Khan’s “Ghajini”, about a man with memory loss who tattoos himself and takes Polaroid pictures to remember events and people, and the animation “Jumbo”, with the voice of Akshay Kumar.
