There was a rumor flying around our offices that Miss Spears was getting hot and heavy with the Indian hunk choreographer, Sandip Soparrakar. After a little investigative work, it was determined that this was a lie started by a newspaper in India that doctored a photo that looked like Britney and Sandip were together. Unfortunately for our gossip loving ears, Britney was actually in Louisiana taking care of her two boys created with loser, turned Britney husband, turned rapper, turned rich divorcee, turned party boy father Kevin Federline, AKA K-Fed.  This rumor turned out to not be true.  Wouldn’t it be hot though if she really was sneaking around with an Indian Stud?  Go Desis!

Preeta Rao is ready to make the jump from modelling to a Bollywood film star, and why shouldn’t she?  After all, she is the little sister of endeared Bollywood actress, Amrita Rao.  If her face looks familiar to you, it’se becuase she beat out thousands of other girls to star in the Cadbury’s Dairy Milk commercials, which aired in 60 different markets.  Preeta will make her movie debut in ‘Rakthaksha’, and we wish her the best with it.

Beautiful Bollywood actress, Katrina Kaif is Vogue India Magazine’s cover girl this month.  Katrina wears purple, which is known to be a color for royalty.  I guess you could say Kaif is Bollywood royalty since she has appeared in 15 films in the past 5 years. 

Katrina admits that the road to stardom was not always easy.  “They didn’t do so in an aggressive or excessive manner, but they used to say things like ‘I don’t know…’ and ‘I’m not sure…’ that would suggest a not-so-positive approach towards me. But I proved myself ultimately”, says Katrina. 

Kaif proved herself to her detractors in 2003 in her debut movie, “Boom”.  At any rate, Katrina is certainly living the good life these days as one of Bollywood’s busiest leading ladies and her prince charming, Salman Khan. 

Bollywood actors, Akshay Kumar and Sanjay Dutt have gone on the record to dispel any rumors of fighting or disagreements on the set of the underwater thriller, “Blue”.  This is the first time the actors have worked together since 1994. 

This is what Sanjay had to say on the topic:
“I’m a guy who gets along with everybody. And anyone who knows me will vouch for this. Akshay is like a younger brother to me. He gives me so much respect it’s embarrassing to hear we’ve been fighting. And the way he has struggled from scratch to become a big star is exemplary,”

Just one week after one of the worst terrorist attacks to hit Mumbai, Hollywood is still willing to stand by Bollywood and proceed with plans to start shooting more movies in India.  Many of Bollywood’s stars are speaking out against the terrorist attacks and everyone is trying to find a resolution to the situation.

Last week, 10 men stormed Mumbai with automatic weapons Wednesday, killing 183 people, including 18 foreigners, business in India’s financial capital.  Movie theaters immediately closed that Thursday and did not open again until Sunday.  Australian actress, Brooke Satchwell, says she barely escaped the gunmen at the Taj Mahal hotel. 

Timing could not have been worse as Hollywood A listers like Steven Speilberg and Will Smith prepare to start filiming productions in India soon.  So far, so good, as no one has pulled out of their deals yet.  2009 will be a challening year for Bollywood due to the recent attacks. 

 

The school was founded in Mumbai in 2005 by actor Anupam Kher and has graduated almost 400 students, including Deepika Padukone, made famous for her role in “Om Shanti Om,” one of the highest- grossing Hindi films ever released.

Bollywood Actress, Tara Sharma has appeared in some forgettable Bollywood movies like Masti and Page 3, but nothing at all sine Heyy Babyy.  It looks like Dharma Productions will give the actress another life as they have signed her to several projects next year. 

In December, we will also see her in the long awaited film, Maharathi, where she stars alongside Paresh Rawal, Naseeruddin Shah and Om Puri.  This is what the actress had to say on the movie:
“Yes I am really excited that Maharathi is finally releasing. I play this nerdy, gawky architecture student who is quite a mysterious character. It’s not a conventional glamorous role; in fact I go completely de-glam for this role. Till the end, the audience doesn’t know if she is good or bad. I really had a wonderful time working with actors like Pareshji, Naseer saab and Om Puri. The energy, enthusiasm and passion which they have for their craft is something which people even half their age don’t have. Pareshji has directed the play on which the film is based and most of my scenes in the film are with him so he was always there providing valuable inputs which really helped me”,

This is what Paul had to say on the subject: 
“I take a good look around and what I see is a barren, barren place,” he said. “In terms of the financial community, in terms of audiences, in terms of distribution. It’s cold out there.”

Bollywood and Hollywood have beem meeting in the middle for a while now.  Steven Spielberg’s Dreamworks is now backed by India based firm Reliance Entertainment, and Will Smith’s production company is producing two films with Indian counterpart UTV.

Silicon Valley is full of wealthy individuals who have money to invest back into their homeland, and Hollywood studios are setting up operations in India too.  Sylvester Stallone and Arnold Schwarzenegger have signed up to perform in a Bollywood film, Jackie Chan has expressed an interest in doing likewise and Snoop Dogg’s music is featured in a summer comedy, “Sing is Kinng.”

It seems the Silicon Valley techies are star struck as well.  Maybe one of the next Bollywood movies should be named, “Glitter and the Geek”.

Bollywood star, Kajol was honoured along with Pritish Nandy for their outstanding charity work towards educating underprivelaged children.  Other Bollywood actors and actresses who were gifted with awards that night include Bhavna Talwar, Nitin Das, Akanksha Joshi, Ashok Kurien, Vandana Shah, Geeta Chandran, Gautam Ghosh, Ritika Sahni and Lushin Dubey.

Former baywatch babe and American actress, Carmen Electra is scheduled to shoot a music video with Akshay Kumar.  This is what they had to say on the upcoming music video shoot:

“It’s too early to talk about this. But yes, we’re shooting a promotional music video with Akshay Kumar  and a foreign female celebrity. At the moment we’ve wrapped up the entire shooting of Kambakkht Ishq. It’s by far the most expensive film I’ve ever produced. But when I look at the action scenes featuring Kareena Kapoor, Akshay Kumar and Sylvester Stallone, I’m more than happy.”

I wonder if Carmen’s fiance will attend the shoot as well.

Bollywood actress, Katrina Kaif revelas how she won her beau, Salman Khan’s heart.  This is what she had to say on the subject:

2000 celebrities were flown in from all over the world for the grand opening of the Atlantis Palm Luxury Resport in Dubai. 4 million dollars was spent on the grand opening party alone where Bollywood actress, Pryanka Chopra was crowned the Goddess of Atlantis and UK pop singer, Kylie Minogue was paid 1 million dollars to perform for 1 hour. The Atlantis Palms resort took 5 years to build on a budget of 1.5 million dollars.

Hollywood A listers like Janet Jackson, Jermaine Dupri, Charlize Theron, Lindsay Lohan, Wesley Snipes, Michael Jordan and many more partied with Bollywood stars and Saudi Princes and Sheiks. A fabulous fireworks show lit up the entire resort and island, probably making this the most spectacular fireworks show in history.
